The Holy Island of Lindisfarne Interactive Guided Tour Screenshot Gallery

The pictures on this page were taken from the 360 degree panoramic photos used in this CD-ROM. These simple little stills show the level of detail you will enjoy in our "The Holy Island of Lindisfarne Interactive Guided Tour". Remember, what you see here is a tiny part of each scene and that there are far more scenes than the few shown below. This page acts as a screenshot tour rather than the glorious virtual tour which will be your guide around Lindisfarne.

Visit our "The Holy Island of Lindisfarne Interactive Guided Tour" page to experience the real thing!

Our tour starts on Marygate, this is the principal street in Lindisfarne's charming little village.

The Gospel Garden is one of the newst additions to Lindisfarne's charms.

We see Lindisfarne Castle sitting perched on top of Beblow Crag.

The old Herring Houses sit next to the pretty little harbour at the Ouse. These can now be rented as holiday homes and the views from their windows can be truly spectacular.

Our tour takes us to the very end of the jetty in the harbour.

Lindisfarne Priory is the second most popular building in the island. It was attacked by Vikings and finally dissolved on the orders of King Henry VIII.

St Cuthbert was one an Anglo-Saxon monk who made Lindisfarne his home. Eventually he sought further solitude and spent time on what is now known as St Cuthbert's Isle before going to live on one of the Farne Islands.

Our thanks go to Brother Damian who kindly allowed us to film in the historic St Mary's Church.

We leave St Mary's on our way to St Cuthbert's Isle. St Mary's is still a working and popular church for both islanders and for some of the many visitors who take a pilgimage to Holy Island.

Your tour visits the remains of the solitary cell on St Cuthbert's Isle.

We climb up the Heugh and experience one of the best views on Lindisfarne.

Little of Fort Osbourne remains but this relic reminds us that the harbour at Lindisfarne was an important strategic base during England's wars with Scotland.

Lindisfarne Castle sits atop Beblow Crag. Your tour explores some of the less well known views of the Castle.

Our tour takes us right round to the beacon at Emmanuel Head...

before coming to the gorgeous, unspoilt beach at Sandham Bay.
