Welcome to our "City Walls Collection" page. We are currently working on a number of Interactive Guided Tour CD-ROMs and these will shortly be available for purchase. Our tours cover many different areas but each one offers you a unique perspective on town fortifications in the UK.

Edinburgh's History - The Flodden Wall

Edinburgh's historic Flodden and Telfer Walls aren't as famous as the city walls around York, Chester or Berwick-upon-Tweed, but they are still fascinating. Many of the hundreds of thousands of visitors who flock to Edinburgh each year don't even know that Edinburgh was a walled city and even fewer realise that parts of these walls still exist. This unique Interactive Guided Tour takes you right around the route of the Flodden Wall. We visit the Telfer Wall and also learn a little about the earlier King's Wall of 1450. This CD-ROM is split into three seperate virtual tours which let you explore this interesting piece of archaeology in detail.

York's History - The City Walls

York's historic city walls provide the focus for this unique and fascinating virtual tour CD-ROM. Explore York's bars (no this isn't a drinking tour!) as this tour lets us see Bootham Bar, Monk Bar, Micklegate Bar, Walmgate Bar (and it's incredible barbican), Fishergate Postern, Layerthorpe Postern and the Red House. We also tour the walls of St Mary's Abbey and we pay a quick visit to the Multiangular Tower.

Chester's History - The City Walls

Chester's historic city walls provide the setting for this comprehensive and unique virtual tour CD-ROM. Four individual tours are present which will take you around some of the most splendidly preserved fortifications in Europe. Your tour CD-ROM explores all the important locations on the route and looks at Chester's history from Roman, Medieval and Civil War times.

The Historic Berwick Walls

This virtual tour takes you around the awesome Berwick ramparts. This coastal down, near to the border between England and Scotland was fought over many times. This Interactive Guided Tour looks at the fabulous Elizabethan ramparts and also the earlier defences including King's Mount, the Bell Tower and the Citadel. Numerous 'full screen' panoramic photographs make this a real must-have for any lover of historic fortifications.
